While going to my destinations in Puerto Rico, there were always a few picture taking stops. It is a beauty especially during the months of November thru February and March when the sky is very clear with blue hues adorned by white puffy clouds. Below there are four pictures I took in the town of Guayanilla, downhill from Cayey to Salinas by el Monumento al Jíbaro and the recently opened road 10 from the town of Ponce to Adjuntas. If you are traveling to the island, the easiest way to go around is by car so consider renting one. It will give you the benefit and flexibility of going places where tour buses wont take you. Have in mind that distances in Puerto Rico are marked as KMs and the speed limits are set accordingly. Be ready to pay at the toll booths. If you travel North, there are more toll booths than if you travle thru the South. Booths range from .50 cents (USA), to up to $2.00 in some cases. Gasoline price in Puerto Rico is per liter, not per gallon. In most gas stations around the island, you have to pay prior to get your pump authorized. If you are in peak traffic time, try whenever possible to pump what you need because you will have to make a line to pay and authorize your pump and another to pick up your change. Not all pumps are credit/debit card ready so paying at the pump might not be plausible in most places. Get a map at the gas station and you'll be ready to travel all over the Puerto Rico by yourself. There are a few car rental companies in San Juan and some have scattered outlets around the mayor towns like Ponce, Cayey, Aguadilla & Mayaguez.
