For years we have had the idea of bringing pictures o the enchanted island of Puerto Rico to Puerto Ricans in and out of the island. Thousands of people have seen our pictures around the world thru this website and thru printed material in local and international magazines and books. We are not going to claim the tittle of the 1st ones one the web with such collection of photos but certainly we have been very commited to the idea that started as a hobby back in the year 2000. We were outside Puerto Rico and we also felt (and still do) homesick and eager to go one day back to visit our island, its beaches, the fiestas patronales and all the colorful events that make Puerto Rico a 100x35 miles country in all th sense of the word. So with a vast collection of pictures in my digital and analog archives, the least I could was sharing them with the rest of the world. We have been showcasing wallpapers in Photos of Puerto Rico.com, but it was time to revamp those screen savers and update them with higher resolution versions. This is no longer the time of 800x600 screen resolution so for you to enjoy better our pictures, it was time go back to where all started and bring you the best quality pictures available, made in Puerto Rico my friends, enjoy them as I enjoy sharing them with you. Please, do take a minute or 2 to read our very short terms of use. Warmest Regards, George Collazo & the team at Puerto Rico Wild.com
Above, a collage of pictures depicting the photographer and documented thru a series of photo events like photo-safaries, photo workshops and other documentary photography in Puerto Rico. George is a relentless photographer who paused his career as a wedding photographer, a career started in the USA to approach a more documentary styled photography in Puerto Rico. His pictures can greet you many times since you set foot on the international airport, to travel guides found in your hotel and parador rooms. George's work thru the lens has been featured beyond the boundaries of the island and can bee seen in publications from around the world. ''I had to put aside wedding photography, with the photojournalistic style of weddings today, one has a lot of work during and after the wedding, from photo editing to album montage giving me little to no time available to what really is my passion, local tourism documentary photography. In my wedding days I was able to take pictures on the weekends and honestly although I like it, I was not enjoying photography at its full potential from my point of view. I'm not cut to go out and take pictures on a weekend event. Now I Iiterally take pictures on an almost daily basis. As a culture and nature photographer, I am able to be 1 day in El Yunque and the next day in el Bosque seco de Guánica or even at el Festival de Las Mascaras in Hatillo; some of my old wedding buddies see my photography from the island or in general and fall in awe. Must if not all of them are tied up to a schedule while I'm as free as la Cotorra de Puerto Rico. Life is short to get to use my camera just during the weekends and spend the rest of the week mounting an album. I respect their work, and I don't regret my desicion at all.'' Feel free to visit George's new blog, say hi or drop him your questions or comments. George is also a long time Nikon user and host a Nikon website with a Nikon cameras and lenses related Blog.
